"Marc Iannaccone is one of the most amazing medical providers that I have had the honor of treating with for my injuries. He is knowledgeable- an expert in his field. He is compassionate- he truly listens to what I need and have to say. He not only treats the physical ailments but the emotional/psychological ones that go hand-in-hand with physical pain. This is a place of healing and where I feel safe. Definitely in good hands! From the initial point of contact with the office manager. Bridget through and including treatment, you are treated as an individual. My pain level has significantly decreased in the 2 years that I have been attending acupuncture. Pain relief began at my first session. I fully recommend Acupuncture Care of Western New York. I am so very grateful to Marc and Bridget!"

"Although I had been exploring healing modalities in my recent past, I felt somewhat apprehensive about trying acupuncture for myself.Historically, I have just not been a fan of needles. But when faced with the possibility of a 'necessary' surgery for an extremely painful and obtrusive hernia in my groin area, I was willing to face the lesser of my fears. Descending the stairs of 656 Elmwood, I was immediately disarmed by a beautiful blonde woman with a welcoming smile; a truly empathetic soul who put me at ease with her kindness and her patience. And I must say, the space itself is lovely; Calming with its serenity enhanced by high vibrational background music and sweetly fragrant incense. Ushered into a private room, Marc the practitioner immediately provided a feeling of safety. He took his time, asked all the appropriate questions and really seemed to LISTEN before he addressed any of my issues. There WAS a spiritual component to his technique (which I appreciated), but without ever being intrusive about it. It was mostly about ENERGY. And I felt only high vibes in Marc's care. Through my earlier research I have come to understand that the needle acts as a facilitator (the practitioner, as well!) for the energy to flow through the body; and that most dysfuntion and dis*ease is the result of energy blockage. In my session with Marc, emotional imbalances and traumas were addressed with great sensitivity and he even dived a little in to how such things correlate to the chakras. Of course, it is not necessary to go 'there' (chakras and all the other stuff that some have deemed 'woo woo') to reap benefits from acupuncture. In other words, you don't have to understand mechanics to drive a car. But I myself found it interesting. And it is worth noting that in the aftermath of 9/11, for example, many people turned to acupuncture, massage, yoga, and EMDR; which seemed to offer more effective relief than traditional therapies. Yet I believe acupunture does not have to compete with more traditional approaches to treatment, but can actually work in tandem with Western medicine; which seems to be more more SYMPTOM based as opposed to true CAUSALITY. I cannot speak to Marc's philosophy, but I will say that I never felt pressured, however, to 'convert' to any one belief system, as far as healing. I was left only with the impression that he CARED. Which unfortunately from my experience with medical doctors in hospitals has not always seemed the case. I make exception for nurses. Nurses ROCK! But I digress. In short, I never needed surgery. My hernia went away. Of course, one can never be 100 per cent sure what healed me... If it was the acupuncture, myself, or 'God'??? Or perhaps a little of all three? But I can say for certain, the acupuncture didn't hurt! And I mean that both literally and figuratively!!! I cannot recommend Acupuncture of WNY highly enough, with immense gratitude to Marc and Bridget! Oh!!! I almost forgot... They have a DOGGIE in the reception office!!! The sweetest one ever, so if you decide to give acupuncture there a go, say 'hi' to her and maybe bring her a little treat!
